This past Friday night, we stayed until the wee hours of the morning jammin' for Jesus at Gateway Apostolic Church in their brand new fellowship hall at 901 Barnes Bridge Road in Mesquite, Texas. It was a district-wide youth lock-in. I guess I'm not "youth" anymore; I turned 47 last month, but I still like to jam, and so do a lot of those youngsters who came to the lock-in. We had a blast.
The event started out with a fairly normal worship service at 9 PM, including some extremely anointed and on-target preaching by Bro. Nathan Cannon, who is in the process of relocating to Mesquite with his wife, who also blessed us greatly with her playing and singing. After the preaching, there was a time of impromptu prayer and an outpouring of the Holy Ghost. You can't script that, and it sure was good!
We then went from the sanctuary to the fellowship hall next door for pizza and volleyball and live music, which was when I got to do my thing on the guitar with everyone else who wanted to jam. The Lord isn't scared of loud music. My sons and daughter wore themselves to a frazzle playing volleyball, and we all slept the next day until it wasn't morning anymore!
Praise the Lord for young people who love His name!
